This is an upgrade to the OEM mount on the 120XL-SD and 127XL-SD. It’s intended for use with the iOptron HAZ31 and HAZ46, but the improved design makes it a worthwhile upgrade for those using the XL-280 fork mount or the Manfrotto Nitrotech 612 head. Rather than attach a Vixen-style dovetail plate to the binocular’s foot, we made the binocular’s foot a Vixen-style dovetail, thereby reducing “stack height” by 15mm, which reduces momentum arm (the amount of offset load on the mount). We also moved the foot forward 15mm to better-match the binocular’s balance point, which makes a noticeable improvement on the XL-280 fork mount. The original foot is the same Luna Pearl as the binocular, the new foot is black powder-coated, which blends in nicely with the mount, be it iOptron, XL-280, or Manfrotto. The bottom of foot has 3/8″ and 1/4″ threaded holes, for attaching a Manfrotto quick-release plate, or attaching to the XL-280 fork mount. Also includes a safety stop pin compatible with iOptron HAZ mounts. Easily user-installed (just 4 screws).
