Very strong metal casting, with rubber insert on bottom, which prevents adapter from swiveling on tripod head. For roof prism binoculars, such as our Sport ED models, choose the Sport L Adapter instead.

This is the best adapter out there for heavy binocs and I found it after considerable research…get this one, and none other. It is well-made, heavy-duty as it says, and the knob actually works well. I can’t say the same for all those plastic versions….yuk. THIS IS A SUPERIOR SOLUTION for tripod-mounting heavy binocs.

Very good, sturdy adapter. There are others that cost about the same price, but are not as solidly constructed. This adapter and a tripod are absolutely essential when using the 9×60 LW or the view, especially at night when used for astronomy, will be too unsteady. The shipping price was even adjusted down after completing the online order and I appreciated that as well as the quality of the adapter.
