iOptron HAZ46 Strain-Wave “Go-To” Mount

The HAZ46 Strain Wave go-to mount is a beefier version of the HAZ31, and is designed to carry up to 44 lbs.- without the need for counterweights. Otherwise it has the same capabilities as the HAZ31. The smaller HAZ31 has the capacity to handle any of our binocular telescopes, including the BT-127XL-SD. But now that iOptron has reduced the price of the HAZ46 to $2595, some of our customers may prefer the higher capacity mount. The cost difference is even less considering that the HAZ46 includes an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery (an external rechargeable battery is extra cost for the HAZ31).
iOptron does not include a mounting plate, we recommend adding our Vixen-style dovetail plate that includes a safety stop. If you’re using with the TR3 tripod, you’ll need to add our Mini-Pier to prevent the binocular from crashing into the top of the tripod legs when the mount does its auto-setup routine. The Manfrotto 161MK2B has the same issue, which can be solved by adding the Mini-pier, or by simply keeping the elevator raised 3″. Includes setup at no extra charge (more info below).

Testing and Setup is included at no extra charge.  When you buy an iOptron mount from Oberwerk, we’ll do the following-

• Install a CR2032 battery in the hand controller
• Set date, time, and time zone for your location
• Check firmware and update if not at latest version
• Configure for top-mounting if we know the mount is for use with a binocular
• Test operation of the mount
