Most bird watching enthusiasts are very particular about their optics. Excellent image quality in a small package is the more important than low cost. Our Sports HD II and Sport ED models all feature ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass objectives, which greatly minimizes chromatic aberration (false-color fringing) and delivers flawless color rendition. The Sport Series also can focus very closely- down to 6 feet! The lower-cost Oberwerk Sport HD II Series are priced around most other competitors non-ED models, and are a great value. The Sport ED Series are our finest roof-prism binoculars, and have a wider FOV than most other competitors at their price point. They also feature lightweight magnesium-alloy bodies with green rubber armor, accented with red-anodized aluminum controls (most competitors use plastic).
