This is a superbly solid and flexible tripod.Well worth the asking price.I’ve got it under my 20x65ED binos and the entire package is steady, but also very easy to handle.

So I purchased this tripod in conjunction with my 15×70 Ultra purchase – I have 40+ years experience in the amateur astronomy hobby – this is the best tripod in this price range I have ever used – the fine adjustments very smooth and allow you to get a balance I have never been able to achieve in a package in this price range – even my alt/az telescope mounts at several times the cost do not allow me the smooth motion that these do.

I love the double handles, I actually turn the curvature in so it hugs my neck/jaw line/ears and once I get all the adjustments set I can simply move my head around and the bino’s follow – I don’t even have to touch the handles I just move my head up, down, left, right, – it is amazing – now that being said my 15 x 70 Ultra’s are half the weight this tripod is rated for and I do not believe you could put an 11lb load on these and have them perform like this – but keep them lightly loaded and they are wonderful – Are they Manfrotto 475’s with a 608 head – nope but they are close and 1/4th the price….No way I would invest that much for the Manfrotto option with these on the market….

Excellent tripod. The alt/az movement is very smooth. Plenty of height, can easily view up to the zenith. Exactly what I was looking for to use with my 15x70s and the binocular observing program certifications from the Astronomical League. Great supplement to my 9.25 SCT. Service in the store was excellent as well.

i’ve been using a pretty good tripod, but it didn’t have a head. had no idea what a good tripod/head would do for my viewing. i bought this tripod to use with the 15X70 Deluxe……..what a combination. this pair is going to take my star chasing to a whole new level. thanks Oberwerk.
