The legendary “border guard” binocular- the Oberwerk 25/40×100 Long-Range Observation Binocular “Classic Edition”, with 100mm triplet objectives (each objective is 4″ in diameter!) and fully broadband multi-coated optics. Rotating ocular turrets allow wide-angle viewing at 25x, and high-power viewing at 40x. Apparent field of view is a very wide 67°. True giants, these are two feet in length and weigh over 26 lbs! For decades, this Carl Zeiss-designed binocular was available only to the East German and Chinese militaries.  Now produced in partnership with Oberwerk, using the latest optical technology- this is the ultimate binocular for terrestrial observation. If you’ve got a home with a view, enjoy it to the utmost with this magnificent instrument.

The “Classic Edition”, in traditional pebble-grain black, has the look of a military antique.  It doesn’t just look like a military binocular- the US Government and the UN have deployed hundreds of these in the Middle East, and they’re also used by the US Border Patrol.  Equipped with range-finding reticles, it can be used by artillery spotters to determine distance to target.

Comes complete with our American-made TR3 maple hardwood tripod, solid walnut is optional. The TR3 tripod can also be custom laser-engraved.  If you want quick and easy height adjustment, order with the Manfrotto 475B tripod, which has a crank-up elevator.

Need easy mobility? Add the Manfrotto 181B Auto-Dolly. 3-year Limited Warranty.

I have owned a pair of the for 9 years. Absolutely stunning. I have these in my living room looking out to a spectacular view. Everyone who comes over remarks how fantastic they are. Absolutely worth the price.

  2. Sylvia Reiser (verified owner)

Purchased these binoculars as a special gift for my husband’s special birthday. Could not be more pleased! They are so beautifully crafted and the optics quality just takes your breath away. They enhance the room we put them in and my husband is the envy of his friends. I am definitely on the “Good Spouse” list right now.

I purchased s pair of these when my wife wanted to take our Granddaughter whale watching in Oregon. We stopped at an observation area and set them up. I myself was overwhelmed with how they brought the passing whales so close, it was almost like they were right of you. We had people lined up waiting for a chance to look through them. Just seeing my granddaughter’s excitement and pleasure was well worth the investment.

Fantastic equipment I utilized during my visual search for comets, paired with and mounted on the Starchair 3000, while I scanned the morning sky for sungrazers. Great for visiting astronomers at my home on Stargazer Ranch in Wikieup, Arizona. Purchased in Spring 2018

We love ours for scanning the hills for wildlife. Amazing piece of optical equipment.
