ck to mono. Cruising star fields was an absolute delight. The 2.5mm exit pupil was a perfect match for my light polluted skies. I did have a learning curve for a few days as my eyes needed time to get acclimated to the system. It’s now very relaxing and stress free to operate. I thought I would have issues with counter rotating individual focusers but I took to them right away. This is the most color free ed that I have ever looked through. At 28x magnification there were times that I thought I saw a trace of color on the limb of the moon. But it was more like a possible hint of color. The BT 70 has got some really good glass. Nice fit and finish. Collimation was perfect. Everything feels and looks like quality. I mounted it on the Oberwerk 4000 tripod which made it a lot of fun to use.

nt out in the backyard planning to look at a few things , but when I looked up through the XL100i was blown away I've never seen so many stars. With naked eyes maybe a hundred, with the binos thousands and thousands. I can't wait to get to a dark sky site. Well worth every penny, great product

ance to observe the waterfowl migration. I have also used it to observe the night sky a couple of times so far and have been very happy. Excellent clarity and very easy to use. Beautiful to look at. I first purchased this with the 5000 series tripod but after a couple of days I felt that a BT as nice as this deserved the wooden tripod - so I contacted Obertwerk and they willingly agreed to exchange the tripod for a wooden one and I paid the difference. Overall, I think this is an excellent buy and have been pleased with the product and the support from Oberrwerk.

d night observation. It’s often used for birds and other wildlife from our deck, and for easy grab n’ go astronomy and/or travel. The optics are great - sharp and beautiful edge to edge using the Oberwerk 22mm and 14mm eyepieces. At the magnifications used, false color is negligible. The focusers are smooth as glass. Excellent quality and design. I use a Manfrotto 608 Nitrotech head on a 3236 tripod (older version of 475B). This is a match made in heaven for this BT. On the BT’s rail, I have a phone mount (for use with the free Astrohopper app) and an inexpensive red dot, with quick detach Picatinny mounts. Works great. It’s a real joy to own such a fine, compact and capable instrument. After a year, I can’t imagine not having this available both at home and while traveling. Oberwerk sales, shipping and technical support was off the charts.

ble difference in views compared to my 25x100 there is just a hint of CA where as the other two scopes have more especially viewing the moon. Kevin has outstanding service fast shipping and always there and willing to talk if you have questions. Top notch quality Also purchased the all wood maple tripod with carbon elevator a must! What a work of art.

Very bright images, time saver from my 6” refractor which has to be polar aligned, etc. Looking forward to the eclipse here i n Texas with the solar filters for these!

simply first class and well thought out. our optics through the lenses are magnificent. We use them at our home in Maui for whale watching amoungst other wonderful things. I can tell you without question, that our every expectation was exceeded. our neighbors are jealous to say the least. I anticipate they will be ordering soon.

view the sky, Is more rewarding to the visual senses, That's my conviction! After wading through the Big Binocular sites out there, I found myself being drawn back to the Oberwerk web site. (They were specific! & personalized) They do Binoculars! and very good ones! My Purchase of the BT-XL100-ED in conjunction with the Manfrotto 608 head sitting on the TR3 Wood Tripod with Carbon elevator. It's just an Awesome user-friendly setup! As for eye candy? Well, it looks pretty amazing too!) Added the multi reticle finder as well, works great! To say it short, these bino's simply pull the heavens down to earth. (Planets, Nebula, Star clusters, the moon has brilliant texture! The Pleiades has a wow factor! 😀 They opened the door to the stars, and they're just really nice Badass Bino's. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase! But if there were any shortcomings on my part, I should have set my conservative budget to the side and opted for the BT-127XL-SD along with the Manfrotto 612 head and called it a day. Everything was extremely well packaged for shipping. And my total order was out the door in just a couple days. Mr. Busarow, and his team made it personal. ear. Doublets well separated. Great for dark sky viewing while camping. Was able to see the green comet with it. My wife and I would highly recommend this set of binoculars to anyone without reservations.

ght all three pairs of eyepieces. It’s a toss-up which is the better for clusters; the 14mm or the 22mm. I do a lot of star-hopping and so favor the 22mm. The 14mm and the 22mm are both superb, and that is by the standards of TeleVue and Takahashi. The seeing conditions here and my astigmatism and my cataracts are so bad that I haven’t passed judgement on the 7mm. 3. Wood tripod. It’s a pretty tripod and it works. It’s also light, and surely could not take as much very rough handling as could a heavy metal unit. It fits nicely inside the 46” TENBA triangular tripod bag. The latter is perfect for tossing into the back of the car, but I’d be reluctant to fly it. 4. Fork. I’m a fan of high-end industrial design, which usually turns out to be Italian. Well, the fork hits for the triple: finish, form and function. Of special importance are the very comfortable knurled knobs on the altitude axis and the very smooth clutches. 5. Binoculars. It’s hard to know where to begin, so I won’t start. The executive summary is that these are perhaps the most satisfying purchase I have ever made. *****************************************************************************************************************
