The Oberwerk Sport Series are hard to beat for portability and ruggedness. The SE Series are also popular for their excellent image quality, at the expense of increased size and weight. The Ultra Series offer the highest level of image quality as well as very rugged construction. If portability is not a requirement, the powerful 25/40x100mm Long-Range Observation “Classic” binocular for many years was the ultimate instrument for terrestrial observation. The US Government and the UN has deployed hundreds of these to Middle Eastern war zones where they are protecting our troops and security forces. In recent years, the new XL Series binocular telescopes are overtaking the 25/40×100, due to their lighter weight, higher image quality, and higher magnification capability.
